Message from the National Director

National Director of Miss Universe Cayman Islands, Derri Lee

As I embrace a new chapter in this Organization, I reflect on the legacy of past and present members who dedicated so much time to the development of Caymanian ladies that have chosen this platform to enhance their lives. As we turn the page we uphold these standards and continue to hold the torch in a quest to transform the women entering the pageant.

In this ever changing world we as an Organization have to evolve as well. We rebranded the Pageant by enhancing our PR with innovative social media trends. We have also reestablished our relationships with traditional press outlets that share our passion and vision to promote the events associated with the Pageant and the contestants.

The role of Miss Universe Cayman Islands is by no means an easy one because the delegate is a public figure that everyone is now looking at while simultaneously having to display decorum, attend many events and continue to be involved in the community. The organization provides assistance in many ways to ensure that our delegate’s journey is enjoyable and unforgettable.

Our platform for 2023-2024 is the United Against Bullying Foundation. Bullying is a real issue and it should not become the norm here in the Cayman Islands.

The road to success is never easy. Women are faced with many hurdles in life as we strive for excellence. Some of us become single moms in our journey and still work very hard and ultimately accomplish our dreams. Women have been a force behind legislative change and many scientific and technological breakthroughs. So to the women out there, believe in yourselves and know that whatever struggles you face is only temporary, you will get through the clouds. Remember greater is he who is in you than the one who is in the world.

Thanks to all of our sponsors that continue to support us with our vision. Special thanks to the Ministry of Tourism & Ports and the Hon Minister Kenneth Bryan, Ministry of Border Control & Labour and the Hon Minister Dwayne Seymour, Compass Media, Radio Cayman, Caymanian Times, Loop, Westin Grand Cayman, Cayman Airways, Kings Sports Centre, Kirk Freeport, Ted Green Fragrances and Women’s Haven.
